Yen Press has acquired the license for the manga and provides the following description:
Delicious in Dungeon is the perfect blend of dungeon adventures and food manga. Join our group of adventurers as they embark on a quest to rescue their lost team member while facing the challenge of surviving solely on the food they find within the dungeon. After a devastating encounter with a dragon deep in the dungeon, young adventurer Laios and his companions lose all their money and supplies. Eager to resume their quest, they face a dilemma: without provisions or funds, their journey is at risk. However, Laios comes up with a brilliant idea: "Let's eat the monsters!" From slimes and basilisks to mimics and even dragons, nothing is safe from these dungeon-crawling gourmands!
The manga, created by Ryōko Kui, debuted in Kadokawa's Harta magazine in February 2014. It has since gained popularity, with Kadokawa releasing the 12th compiled volume in August 2022. In September 2021, the 11th volume hinted that the series was approaching its climax.
Delicious in Dungeon has received critical acclaim and recognition. It was nominated for the ninth and twelfth Manga Taisho awards in 2016 and 2019, respectively. Additionally, it secured the top spot in the Kono Manga ga Sugoi! 2016 list of the best 20 manga for male readers. The series ranked 13th in Da Vinci magazine's 2015 comic rankings and later placed 35th in 2020.
To promote the manga's eighth volume, Studio Trigger created a 30-second animated commercial in September 2019.
