On Thursday, Kadokawa revealed that the highly anticipated third season of the main anime series "KonoSuba – God's blessing on this wonderful world!" will be airing next year. Additionally, Kadokawa unveiled an exciting "ultra teaser visual" for the upcoming season:
Takaomi Kanasaki, the previous director of the anime, will take on the role of chief director for the third season at Drive, while Studio DEEN handled the animation for the first two seasons and J.C. Staff worked on the film. Yujiro Abe, known for directing episodes of "Kaguya-sama: Love is War" and "Great Pretender," is directing the series. Makoto Uezu is once again responsible for the series scripts, and Koichi Kikuta returns as the character designer.
The first season of the main anime aired in January 2016, followed by the second season in January 2017. Both seasons were streamed on Crunchyroll as they aired in Japan. The anime film adaptation, "KONOSUBA - God's Blessing on This Wonderful World– Legend of Crimson," premiered in Japan in August 2019, with Crunchyroll and Fathom Events screening it in the United States in November 2019.
The television anime adaptation of Natsume Akatsuki and Kurone Mishima's spinoff novel series, "Konosuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World!," debuted on April 5 and concluded recently.
The "Konosuba" light novel series, written by Natsume Akatsuki and illustrated by Kurone Mishima, follows the story of Kazuma, a socially withdrawn student who dies in a traffic accident but is given the opportunity to reincarnate in a fantasy world by the goddess Aqua. He chooses to bring Aqua along, and they embark on quests to earn enough for their basic needs. They later recruit the sorceress Megumin and the swordswoman Darkness, who prove to be equally inept.
The main novel series concluded with its 17th volume in May 2020. Akatsuki also penned the spinoff novels, with Mishima serving as the illustrator. The spinoff series, which began in 2014, consists of three novels and two sequel series novels.
Yen Press is publishing the original "Konosuba" light novels, as well as Masahito Watari's manga adaptation, in English. The company is also releasing the "Konosuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World!" spinoff novels and Kasumi Morino's manga adaptation in English.
The franchise also includes additional manga adaptations and several video games.
